Established in 1993, Chantler Kent Investments has built a team of specialists which includes financial advisers, chartered advisers, paraplanners and experienced administration staff. Our goal is to provide our clients with a bespoke, friendly service which meets their financial goals and allows them to have control of their finances now and in the future.

Julian Durand

Julian has been in the industry since 1986 and joined Chantler Kent in 2010. He previously had 15 years’ experience administering and valuing final salary pension schemes. He specialises in pension and investment advice. He is experienced and authorised to advise on final salary transfers. He is a passionate sportsman who likes to keep fit. A lot of his spare time is now taken up training and watching his two sons play football and enjoying his young daughters dancing pursuits.

Ashley M October

Ashley joined Chantler Kent in 2012, with previous experience since 1983 after graduating from York University at NPI, Sun Life, Axa and as a director at Andrew Kent and Partners and more recently with Rayment Matthews and Johnson. Ashley’s extensive experience in the market and specialist pension knowledge allows our clients to benefit from advanced areas of financial planning in the pensions and inheritance tax planning arena. His passions outside of work are for fly fishing, art and music,and he enjoys cooking.

Sarah Grinnell

Sarah joined Chantler Kent in early 2016. She has over 25 years' experience within financial services.
Sarah is a firm believer in Lifestyle Financial Planning, which means ‘financial planning with an end in mind’. The ‘end’ is all about helping clients get a better life! Sarah believes in taking the time to get to know her clients, their goals and aspirations. Her approach is one of delivering solutions in a clear, understandable way and regularly reviewing these to ensure that things stay on track to meet the clients' goals.
In her spare time Sarah is a keen fund raiser for women’s cancer charities and has ridden 400km across Tanzania, Brazil and Costa Rica raising over £20,000. She is embarking on another trip to Sri Lanka in 2022 for the same causes. She enjoys travel and cooking from all around the world. During the pandemic Sarah has helped support local business’s by providing a take away delivery service for her local micropub and Indian restaurant to help keep the businesses going.

Rob Tinsley

Rob has been a pensions and investment professional for over 35 years, joining Chantler Kent Investments in January 2018. He spent many years with Aegon as National Development Director gaining considerable experience in Corporate Pensions, leaving them to head up retirement consulting businesses for Origen, Punter Southall and then Capita. He takes pride in helping clients understand and achieve their financial objectives and avoid the many mistakes that can be so easily made. In his spare time he is a drummer, keen golfer and regularly tours Europe and beyond on his BMW Adventure Motorbike.

James joined us at the beginning of 2016, having previously worked for 2 years at an estate agency in Tunbridge Wells. He is currently a member of our mortgage department. Zoe’s background is in international development where she spent 10 years within for UN agencies, governments, Think Tanks and International Non-Governmental Organisations advocating for women’s rights and gender equality. She brings her skills in organisation, strategy and policy making to Chantler Kent to support the migration of the back-office system and integration of new HR processes.

Carmel Burke

Carmel Joined CKI in April 2015 as our Practice Manager. She was a self-employed software trainer and administrator since 2004 and previously employed as an Office Manager in various IFA practices. She has gained a wealth of experience in office procedures and systems which she has brought to CKI. Carmel has been in the financial services industry since 1987.
Carmel is a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP, Time Line Therapy & Hypnosis as well as a Spirit Led Reikki Healer. She enjoys expanding her knowledge, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

I started with CKI March 2024. I have been working in client services since 2017. In the last few years, I have worked in the financial services industry, specifically in defined benefit pensions. This has led me to become interested in wealth management and what I can do to help clients move forward with their planning. I am keen to learn all I can.

Away from work, I enjoy getting out in the countryside, whether that is on foot, walking with my other half and our lurcher Spud, or on horseback.

Likes: Travelling. Training for agility with my dog Spud. Hacking around the countryside and anything equestrian-related, really.

Dislikes: Getting up early at the weekends.
